Antenatal care is usually shared between the midwife, GP and local NHS hospital services.
Our doctors and staff are not prepared to tolerate rude or abusive behaviour. Any such behaviour may lead to removal from our list, and you will need to register elsewhere.
Comments, Complaints & Compliments
Our practice aims to give a friendly & professional service to all our patients. The Partice Manager/Staff welcome your comments, complaints and compliments so that we can make improvements where necessary. If you are not happy with any aspect of our services please contact the practice manager.
Items for which there is a charge (fee) include: completion of private medical sickness certificates, health insurance claim forms, resident parking permits, insurance medical reports and examinations, medical examinations for employment, copying of medical records and notes, HGV examinations.
Responsibilities of Patients
If you cannot attend an appointment for whatever reason, please let us know as soon as possible as this will help us to provide a better service to you and others.
If you are unable to come to the surgery and need a home visit, please telephone before 10 am stating the urgency. The Doctor can assess your problem and arrange a visit if appropriate. Visits are made at the Doctor’s discretion. Whenever possible please attend the surgery to allow us to offer a better service to all our patients.

It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give you the best possible advice and care. This information is only available to those involved in your care. All medical records are kept in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act.
You can choose not to share your Medical Record by letting the Practice know that you wish to opt out this service.

You may request an interpreter for patients who do not speak English for any appointment. If possible please book this with reception at least one week ahead.
Evenings and Weekends
Telephone 111 for the 24-hour urgent care service NHS 111. This is for urgent problems or if you cannot wait until surgery reopens. Calls to 111 are free.
Referral To Hospital Consultant
If you need referral to a consultant your doctor will be happy to discuss this with you and make the necessary arrangements using local NHS hospital services, or if preferred, local private consultants. Please note we may not be able to prescribe the medication suggested by the consultant if it does not fall within the CCG Formulary.
Results Of Hospital Tests
Patients are requested to contact the surgery in person or by telephone during the following times:
Morning: between 11.00-11.30
or evening between 5.00–5.30 except Thursday

When requesting a repeat prescription, please use the computer slip from your previous prescription or a written request. Please allow at least 2 working days before you need your medications. Prescriptions can be posted to you if a stamp-self addressed envelope is provided.
Electronic Prescribing (EPS) is now available, but you need to register with your chosen pharmacy.
Requests are not accepted over the phone for safety reasons.
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking your appointment.

Summary Care Records (SCR)
SCR contain details of your key healthcare information – medications, allergies and adverse reactions. They are accessible to authorised healthcare staff in A & E departments supporting better prescribing of medication for patients by providing up to date information on your allergies, previous adverse reactions and medications.
You can choose to have a summary care record, if you do want one it will happen automatically and you don’t need to do anything. If you don’t want one, you need to fill in a SCR opt out form that can be obtained online and hand it in to reception.
